Why is Stat tracking is so unbelievably poor!?

I cannot believe how poor the stat tracking functionality is in the garmin golf app considering the price of the S70!watches. Simple things such as:

1. Being able to filter by time period rather than have FIR and GIR stats cover the entire period that you’ve owned the watch

2. actual numbers on strokes gained rather than meaningless bar charts

3. on my s70 after a round I can see how my putts I played on every hole in a wheel format but bizarrely I can’t see how my shots I played in aggregate!?!?

4. putting stats shown as short medium long with no indication of what distance constitutes short medium long

5. inability to see where putts were taken even though I have the ct10 sensors!!!??

I could go on.

  • yup. The stat tracking is terrible.

Very long standing issue. Nothing has changed at all. Every golf app available for download does a better job of providing statistics.

I was hopeful when they added allowing us to mark the putt location on the watch without the CT10. I asked if that marked spot will be used for stats. Answer is no, you need the CT10.

Why add a feature when it has zero statistical value? No answer from Garmin.

When on the green you can move the pin location on the watch, but again, it isn't used in any performance stats. Why bother?

  • Recently got the ct10 sensors just for putter and wedges, and it already feels pointless. There is a wealth of data captured by the watch and sensors but the analysis is woeful.

  • Ya as someone coming from shotscope I was shocked as well at how terrible garmin golf app is. On this forum and others for years users tell them exactly how to make their app competitive in the easiest ways possible and they refuse to incorporate the updates. They even completely revamped the entire look of the app a few months ago but barely changed anything as far as giving us useful data or a better interface.
