S70 did not record shot tracking. I cannot see it on the Garmin Golf App or In Uconnect

I have Garmin S70 with the CT sensors, but it did not record my shot tracking either in the App or in Uconnect. When I see the scorecard in either it has not recorded my shot. This seems to be an issue, is the a solution once it starts happening?

  • Also had this problem today. Brand new S70 watch with the latest updates done. Brand new properly paired CT10 sensors.

Played my first round and nothing tracked. Highly annoying to say the least

  • same here

bought in Dec, played about 30 rounds so far, none of them tracked.

super annoying compared to the X40 that used to work perfectly.

  • The following factors should be considered if you have concerns with shot data:

    • On the watch, ensure that the "Wrist" setting in the "User Profile" settings menu is set to your lead wrist which should be the arm the watch is worn on (left wrist if using right-handed clubs...or right wrist if using left-handed clubs).
    • Also ensure that the watch is worn on top of the wrist and not on the underside of the wrist.
    • During the round, score should be kept and the watch will record shots throughout the round as long as the score and stat tracking prompts are entered at the end of each hole, with the front, middle and back distances displayed for the correct hole prior to teeing off on each hole transition.
    • Ensure you are keeping score on the watch starting the activity directly from the Golf app on the Approach S70. Starting a round through the Garmin Golf app will not result in shots getting recorded if the watch is not being used.
    • When viewing the scorecard through the Garmin Golf app, scroll below the scorecard frame showing holes 1-18 to view each shot individually by tapping one to view the map of the hole showing the each shot recorded during the round.

  • hey Cody

thanks for the reply. i have tried all these things with resetting, resting the wrist before the swing, etc. even other people have worn the watch. nothing works.

it is a bit disappointing, having a "flagship" model of a watch that doesn't do a key part of the service it is supposed to after having an X40 for 10 years that worked flawlessly.

any help in sight or can i exchange it for a watch that works?

  • Typically this concern is not something that would result in the watch needing to be replaced.

If  the watch is tracking step throughout the day, then the accelerometer and gyroscope sensor hardware is working on the watch.

You should also consider the following additional factors outlined below:

    • If you have installed a 3rd party band to the watch vs using the original band that came in-box, the band you have installed may not be compatible with the QuickFit 20 band size/type needed for that model.
    • Please also double check the Settings > User Profile > "Wrist" setting and ensure the setting is showing correctly for your lead arm during the round.
    • Ensure you are wearing the watch as the graphic is shown on the manual page linked here: Approach S70 - Wearing the watch
