Approach S70 Accidental button press on gloved hand

I am constantly accidentally hitting the buttons on the s70 with my gloved hand... I was worried about this before I got the watch. But I figured Garmin had figured out some way to avoid this happening.

Im not sure, but I think it may be causing issues with the watch picking up shots without the CT10 sensors.

Anyone have a fix for this?

  • The only way I have found is to set the watch to auto lock but then that can be frustrating when you actually want to tap on the screen to check distances etc. I ended up just moving the watch slightly further up my wrist.

Try locking the buttons during play or adjusting the fit. If you need better control, you might find these gloves helpful while keeping your hands warm.

  • I don't like locking the watch as it means extra button presses when you want to actually check something on course. $100+ for gloves is a little excessive too IMHO.

So far, moving the watch an inch or so further up my wrist is working for me. Just wish Garmin could allow you to flip the face via software and then you could wear the watch backwards.

  • Wearing the watch backwards or on the underside of the wrist will result in shot detection not working properly, as the Wrist setting in the User Profile menu is designed to detect movement and impact of club face to the ball based on the specific movement and angles when worn from the top of the wrist from the lead hand.

It is best to wear the watch a little bit above the glove on the lead wrist to prevent inadvertent button presses from the glove mashing up against the button while golfing. The other option recommended is to enable "Auto Lock" during the round to lock the buttons which allows the user to hold a button down if the button operation is needed during the round.
