Approach S70 not picking up driver consistently since update 19.41 & 19.38

I loved the watch! It was working perfectly and would pickup every single shot until I downloaded software version 19.41 & 19.38. For some reason now it won't pickup driver consistently. Which is extremely annoying since I'm trying to dial in my driver distances. It also helps me find my ball when I can see the distance.

I am NOT using CT10 sensors.

I have factory reset the watch and done everything I can think of.

Has anyone else dealt with this since the update?

  • I recommend reviewing and implementing the suggestions outlined on the  My Garmin Golf Watch Is Not Detecting Shots Automatically if you have not already. 

    Some common factors to consider: 

    • Ensure you are wearing the watch on top of the wrist, and on your lead wrist (left wrist if using right-handed clubs...or right wrist if using left-handed clubs). 
    • On the S70, open quick access menu > Select the Settings box > Tap "User Profile" > Scroll down to the "Wrist" setting > Ensure the Wrist setting matches the wrist the watch is being worn on. 
    • If you have changed the band on your watch, ensure the band is compatible and sized properly. If using a 3rd party band...the fit may not be adequate to the wrist to allow the movement and club face impact to the ball to be detected properly.
