Scramble

Hi there,

Just got my S70 and very much looking forward to trying it out. Just a clarification question on shot tracking for use with auto caddy etc.

If I am doing a scramble, what is the best way to ensure the shots from this do not affect my averages? Obviously we may use someone else’s ball do it doesn’t make sense not to track it. If I say “no” to scoring does this disable the shot tracking feature? If not, do I just need to manually go and disable statistics before that specific round?
Thanks!

  • Hi,

if I play these form of golf, I register only my shots, but fill in the correct amount of shots in the scorecard. Knowing that a lot of distances totally wrong, I only disable statistics later in the app.

  • When viewing individual scorecards on your account after syncing the round from your Garmin Device, there is an option you can select stating "Exclude scorecards from performance stats" which will prevent the scorecard from contributing to any of your performance stat data.

  • Good day.

So, exclude the scorecard is a way to prevent statistics to be "contaminated" when continuing with a ball which is not yours. That's ok.

But what if you do continue with your ball, if your ball is the best? Is there a way to contribute that stroke into the club statistics (especially in combination with sensors)?

And is there still a way to add strokes which are not used as the next stroke but still can contribute to the club statistics?
If I play with someone who is much better than me, we will probably use a lot of balls of the other player. But that does not imply my balls are bad hitters. They can be good hits for me and valuable for the stats, but still not used as the next stroke in the round.

As you probably notice, I am at the beginning of building up statistics. So, I do not want to miss anything that contributes to the stats. Though, I do play scramble in club tournaments and casual non-qualifying rounds (winter tees, winter greens, etc) to speed up play.
