Not detecting putting..

New to S70 moved from shotscope. Now looks like a very expensive mistake. Having a number of problems but will start with putts not being detected. I have the latest tags. For putting do i just play the shot or is there a step to record a put during my round? Thanks.

  • The Approach S70 features AutoShot detection is designed to only automatically detect full swing shots, and is not designed to detect putts or chip shots. The impact of the club face to the ball during the shot will typically too low of impact for the watch to detect. The watch not being able to detect low impacts through the sensors is also a benefit because this prevent bumps or other movements during the round from being detected as shots.

Putts can be automatically tracked using an Approach CT-10 sensor attached to the putter, with the sensor paired and assigned to the putter through the club sensors menu on the watch in Golf Settings.

A few months ago through software version 16.55, the ability to manually mark the hole location and putt locations was added to the Approach S70. The recent putt location marking feature allows the user to set the flag location, and must be set prior to stepping onto the green. Then once you are physically located on the green, the green view menu will allow the location of the putt to be marked by tapping on the touchscreen, and then is saved by tapping the action button on the upper right side of the watch.
