S70 distance measurement in the event of non-detected chip shots.

Using the S70 Shot Tracking feature (manually, no CT10's) if I track my approach to the green and it comes up short, I then chip to the hole but the chip isn't detected. How do I stop the measurement of my approach to where it actually landed? I thought it was by tapping the distance reading at the top of the watch, but doing this it goes back to Hole number then as soon as I start walking it continues with the approach yardage count, obviously leading to skewed club yardage figures. Hoping someone can help?

The shot detection feature (AutoShot) on the Approach S70 is not designed to pick up chip shots or putts, as the watch without the Approach CT10 sensors is designed to detect all full-swing shots.

The lesser impact occurring from putting or shorter swings like chip shots are not designed to be tracked.

In the golf round menu, there is a measure shot feature...but that requires taking the shot after entering the measure shot menu to then begin recording the distance, the measure shot option cannot be used after a shot has already been taken.

So from this, if my understanding is correct, if I play a shot short of the green, then a chip and putt(s) to the hole, the yardage of my approach will be counted from where I enter the final score, and there is no way of designating the actual spot it landed?

This happens to me all the time. I imagine it happens to just about everyone. My workaround is to manually add a new shot (chip or putt) from where my approach ended, on the fairway, on the green, wherever. This essentially stops the measurement of your approach shot. This is the only way I have found to get accurate distances for approach shots.
