Why is the new "Weather Map Overlay" feature not available for the Approach S70?

Garmin's "SEPTEMBER 2023 SMARTWATCH FEATURE UPDATE" announced the addition of this new feature:

WEATHER MAP OVERLAYS:
Use your smartwatch* to make informed weather
decisions by viewing the latest map overlays for
precipitation, cloud cover, temperature and wind data on
your wrist.

I saw it on my friend's Fenix 7 and it works great. Why is it not available on the S70? It is very useful to see where precipitation is coming through (e.g. during a round of golf, to know if I should look for cover or not).

I really hope it is in the works.

  • The Approach S70 does not feature any additional maps other than the CourseView maps for golf activities.

Since there are not any TOPO mapping features on the Approach S70, the Weather Map Overlay feature is not offered on this model, as TOPO mapping is needed to support that feature.
