HRM and accelerometer not working

I have the following issue(s) with my S70/47mm.

  • With HRM enabled, the accelerometer does not work at all (no steps recorded, no wrist gesture to turn on the display, not detecting shots while playing)
  • With HRM disabled the accelerometer works ok, but there is no heart rate information

When HRM is enabled, I only see the two center small LEDs blinking, but no heart rate is shown (so no sleep data, no intensity minutes etc..), the larger four LEDs are not "blinking"

This is my second S70 already as the first one was replaced due to exactly same problem.

Both watches were working ok until I did the 14.36 SW update.

I have had support case open in Garmin support now for two weeks after trying to reset the HRM and the watch few times according to their instructions. Sent also all diagnostics data through Garmin Connect. No progress.

Wondering if this is common problem and whether I should wait with crippled watch or push for another replacement?
