S70 plays like distance not working

The weather and wind plays like isn't showing. Just get a dash next to it. I have a connection to the Garmin golf app and Garmin connect and the watch shows wind when I go into it. Just nothing on the plays like. I've uninstalled and re installed Garmin golf app but still no joy. 

What more can I do.

Pixel 6 with Android 13 on watch version is running 13.25.

  • I’m having an issue with my plays like as well… But it’s the barometric pressure reading that is way out of whack… No way that would be +101

  • I have the exact same issue. Emailed the company i bought it from and they said Garmin told them to make sure the watch was up to date and if that didnt fix the problem (it didn't) then to get me to send it back for a replacement. The only work arouund I found was to turn the watch off and back on and then start your round. That seemed to work everytime.

  • Is there any one from Garmin to answer this.

  • It was suggested to me by another user to uninstall the Garmin Golf App and reinstall it.

    I tried this and it fixed all my "plays like" issues.

    Garmin may say all issues are not always the same but waiting for the grass to grow is frustrating if the fix has already found in some, maybe all cases.

  • Update as of August 7, 2023: 

    Please ensure your device receives the software update (Installing the Latest Software and Course Updates to an Approach S70 Watch).

    If the issues continues after troubleshooting, please utilize the workaround outlined below until we are able to more permanently resolve this issue:

    1. With the S70 powered on, press the middle right button to reveal the menu
    2. Tap Settings
    3. Tap Golf Settings
    4. Scroll down and tap PlaysLike
    5. Scroll down to Weather and tap it to toggle it Off

    Thanks for the reply but I've tried this and still it didn't work. I did make to get the wind in but still not the other. This sensor is part of the watch so hot can it not show.

    I feel like that response is a generic fob off as I've seen it several times already and only seems to work with half the people commenting about this issue.

    It's there anything else I can do. I've uninstalled the installed connect and golf app turn the watch on and off had it running the entire time in at the course and still nothing.

  • I had the exact same issue and uninstalling and reinstalling the Gargim Golf App solved this. For those (like me) who are concerned about their past data/stats/scorecards, uninstalling and reinstalling will NOT delete them. I was using a previous Garmin golf watch that did not have the Playslike feature, so I have a feeling that changing watches created this issue, so makes sense that reinstalling would fix it. Good luck everyone! Loving the watch :-)

  • Hi I am have this issue. So you say uninstall the garmin app, is this on my phone? 

  • I find opening the garmin golf app fixes this and sometimes my gps yardages get out of whack and it fixes that as well

  • If the weather information contributing to the PlaysLike Distance reading is not current, or not based on precise location, opening the app, checking permissions through Android Settings or iOS settings will help to get the weather contribution to PlayLike proper for the distances displayed on the watch during the round. 

    Users should also consider that the barometric altimeter sensor built into the S70 also factors in elevation & air pressure into the reading as well. Calibrating the altimeter sensor through the Sensors & Accessories menu using accurate current elevation manually (accuracy +/- 50ft)  will help the baro sensor get elevation and pressure readings much more accurately compared to calibration using GPS (+/- 400ft).
