Reactivating a deactivated club in bag

I'm wondering why I can't reactivate a deactivated club from my bag?

I have like 17 clubs which I sometimes change depending on the type of course or the weather conditions. To get the best virtual caddy advice I only want to have the clubs activated (including mounted CT10 sensor) which are really in the bag. Now when I deactivate a club it is irreversible and I have to create a new club.

I would really like to be able to reactivate a club when I put it in my bag again, so the virtual caddy can use the club again and also has the correct (historical) data.

  • Virtual caddie will reflect all active clubs set in the "My Bag" section of the Garmin Golf app. Once you have retired or removed a club from the list, they will no longer be available for selection in the club prompt selection, or for use with CT-10 sensors to automate the shot tracking (if club is sensor assigned).

Any clubs paired with CT-10 sensors will continue being automatically tracked throughout your round if paired to the watch and in use during the active round..so if you plan on rotating other clubs in, and removing the CT-10 assignment from the club sensor list on the watch, you would have to keep your other clubs in the list, without removing/retiring them out of "My Bag". Then based on your what clubs are in your current bag...if virtual caddie suggests a club not currently in use for that round in your actual bag...you would have to determine next closest club to use since you have more than 14 in your club rotation.

  • Thanks Cody, that’s wat I already understood. What I don’t understand is why clubs can’t be deactivated temporarily? Very simple: When you remove a club (and CT10 sensor) from your bag, you deactivate it. When you want to put the club back in the bag you activate it. This will allow the virtual caddy to use only activated clubs.

In Arccos this is possible. Should be an easy enhancement for the Garmin Golf app.

  • I agree with OP and would very much like to see this enhancement too.  I have many clubs and would like to rotate them in and out without losing a club’s history.

  • In order for a virtual caddy to be usable with several bags and/or when having more than 14 clubs that are rotated in bags, the software must have structure. There should be:
    1) 'My clubs' that contains all my clubs with nicknames.
    2) 'My bags' with nicknames. I should be able to add any of my clubs to any of my bags at any time.
    3) 'My active bag' that is the one I am using during the current golf round. Virtual caddy should only recommend the clubs in the 'My active bag', and statistics need to be collected only for these clubs, but the old statistics must be kept for all 'My clubs'. These changes should be easy to implement.

But for the virtual caddy to be useful at all, there should be an option to select a time frame for the club statistics to be used, as well as an easy way to select out clear outliers from the data. Average shot distances with same club may increase/decrease quite fast, especially in case of beginners, young juniors and older persons having new physical limitations.
