No ringtone at all for alarms...

Hello, it s definitely impossible to use the alarm fonction as my only option is to set vibration on or off... the icon of the bell is desperately crossed and I can't find the way to activate it... Any idea?

Thank you...

Also: is there a way to inhibit the vibrations while setting the parameters? Example: vibration activates when you use the keyboard at each letter typed.. annoying.

  • The Approach S70 does not have an audible alert tone other than the vibration function for alarm sounds on the watch. From the menu Clocks > Alarms > The switch next to the alarm will show green set ON or gray if OFF.

There is currently no option to set the vibration to off when using the keyboard feature to rename or use other features for the type input function.

  • Thank you very much for having answered me.
As I am French, I need to be sure I understood the English sentence well: this watch has an alarm fonction that definitely CANNOT ring to wake you up. Am I right?

    If so, this is weird.

But the watch is otherwise fantastic!

  • Correct, the Approach S70 is designed to offer the vibration function when the alarm goes off.

  • Sorry to insist but it is still not clear to me:

"Approach S70 is designed to offer the vibration function".

This suggests that vibration is an additional possibility. In this case, the ringing is the basic function, which is a minimum for an alarm clock.

Therefore, I have to ask: how do we set the alarm ringing?

Or do you mean vibration is the only way to notice the alarm goes off????????

    Thank you for answering.

  • The vibration is the only method of alerting when the alarm goes off. There is no option to ring an alert tone.

  • Now it s perfectly clear. Incompréhensible but clear. Then one can wonder about the meaning of this ring icon beside the vibration one beside the green or gray switch On or Off !Frowning2

    Many thanks anyway!

  • The S70 cannot do audible tones in any area of the software. Alarm clocks, activity alerts, etc will only vibrate on S70.

    • That’s absolutely awful how can you design a watch without an audible alarm I’ve just purchased this watch and I cannot believe that such a basic function is not available for watch cost in £649 Shame on Garmin, please sack or fire. The person who designed the watch without an audible alarm, I mean come on??? Lucky for me, I could return this watch
  • Does this mean there is no audible functionality at all ? i.e future software could enable or S70 has no hardware capability? Just purchased and expecte dit to have audio prompts for interval running just like my Forerunner 245

  • Golf is the primary focus for the Approach S70, as well as our other premium Approach watches released in the past, and no sound tone being offered is consistent to predecessors of the S70, with the Approach S60, and Approach S62 both not offering the feature either.

The main theme of the Approach S70 is to offer our users a premium golfing experience, with more golfing features than we have ever offered on any of our prior Golf compatible wearable devices. All other features available on our premium Approach watches are secondary additional features, including the short, and primitive "beep" sound that watches in other Garmin wearable series offer.

Outside of golf, the Approach S70 offers an immense amount of features for other activities, along with smart features more than any other Approach model has release prior.

Hopefully, the Approach S70 featuring a simple sound beep was not the primary reason you went with this model. The vibration alert is offered, and can be felt allowing the user to not be alerted, and is especially useful if using the music features on the watch.
