S70 locking up / freezing.

I have the S70. I have played 3 rounds so far and on all rounds it has locked up twice. The watch can be powered down and restarted but any data up to that point is lost. Anyone else having issues? So far makes the Watch pointless and may return if issue isn’t resolved. 

  • my last 2 rounds i have played my s70 keeps on freezing, i keep resetting the watch and it loses all previous round. Tried all the fixes ppl are recommending and still no fix. if it carries on im going to go for gps trolley in near future

  • I experienced this last year when I first got the S70.

    Following the next steps I have not had a problem.

    (1) Run the Garmin Golf App.

    (2) Make sure the icon circle goes from Red to Green with a Green Tick.

    (3) When you look at the S70 watch face it should show the Bluetooth icon.

    (4) Now start the "Play Golf" option on your S70 watch and follow the steps. Note: I block notifications and calls when I am playing.

    I am running version 16.55 and set the Satellites to "All + Multi-Band".

    If you still have issues then it could be an issue with your phone. I use an OPPO A94 5G Android 13 mobile.

  • I would highly recommend getting your software up to date if you are experiencing an issue with your Approach S70 freezing up at times. 

    16.55 is the most current version...if for example, your software version is not showing 16.55 and is showing something like 13.08 in the About menu of your watch...it's essential you get that updated to the most current version available.
