CT1 sensor

Hello

Will the S62 watch be compatible with the CT1 sensor? I understand that it has the NFC capability

Thanks

  • At this time, the Approach CT-1 are only compatible with the Approach S44, Approach S50, and Approach S70 series of Garmin golf watches.

There are not any announcements regarding the Approach S62, or any other devices becoming compatible with the CT-1 tags. If any announcements in the future become available, regarding the CT-1 tag compatibility with other products, Garmin will notify users and I will be sure to update any related posts here in forums.

The Approach CT-10 Automatic Club Tracking Sensors are worth considering if you are wanting the most features Garmin has to offer for automatic club tracking, scoring, and additional golf performance stats

The Approach CT-1 tags are a simpler sensor that provide the option to tap the sensor to the face of the watch prior to taking a shot so the club is assigned instead of assigning the shot after being detected by the watch with the Club Prompt feature. The CT-10 sensors are still required in order to automatically tracking scoring, club tracking, and other club performance stats.

  • I'm so disappointed to learn that my awesome s62 watch won't work with ct1 sensors that I finally pulled the trigger and bought. What a joke. For that much money ?  I guess the bigger joke is all the problems with the s70 that's $1000

  • I am sorry to that you were disappointed in finding that the CT-1 sensors are not compatible with the Approach S62.

The Approach CT-10 sensors are compatible with the S62 to full automate club tracking and scoring...whereas the CT-1 sensors will only allow for club assignment prior to the shot and do not support the automated club features. There obviously is a significant price difference between the CT1 and CT10 sensors due to the difference in features they offer....but those sensors are an option as the CT1 did not replace the CT10 sensors.

The good news is that your Approach S62 on it's own offers the "Autoshot" detection and "Club Prompt" features to assign clubs to your shots, whereas the Approach CT1 sensors will only provide the feature of assigning the club prior to the shot vs after the shot on your S62 using the club prompt setting during the round.
