Touch Screen not working on Approach S62

My first S62 was replaced under Warranty as the watch was really struggling to receive satellite / GPS, Garmin were very helpful and replaced with a second hand unit

The touch screen on the replacement was always dodgy and worked 50/50, but useable.

After 12 months, the touchscreen failed completely and Garmin, having looked into the replacement, wouldn't replace it.

The factory reset can't be completed as it relies on touch screen !

I have been offered a reduced price replacement but my question is, has anyone else spent £500 on a watch that needs to be thrown away after 3 years -  seems unreasonable and unfair
