S62 Not Picking Up Shots - HELP ME!

Hey Guys

I am getting increasingly frustrated with my S62.

I am a left handed golfer wearing the watch on my right wrist to pick up shots; if and when this has happened i've always resynced and/or updated the software on my watch with garmin express - and it's been happening for years.  I've reset it through the settings, I've unpaired and re-paired my watch with my phone numerous times, i've turned off the shot tracking and turned it back on.......... in the end i still am not able to have the watch pick up my shots automatically.  Every other feature of the watch works without issue.

As well i've tried adding a shot where the watch says "swing to pick up shot" - still nothing.

I've been going back and forth with this for the past two months and I cannot get this watch to work the way it's advertised to - GARMIN - How can I get this watch to work!!!!!!

Help Me Please - give me an option for a fix, a repair, a replacement, a trade in program to a new one..... something!!! I'm begging you, I've become to used to this working that when it doesn't it makes playing golf so much less enjoyable.

  • I recommend checking a specific setting as outlined below: 

    1. From the time screen, tap the middle button on the side of your watch to open the main menu. 
    2. Select the Settings box
    3. Scroll down and select the "User Profile" option 
    4. In the User Profile menu navigate down the menu to the "Wrist" section and confirm that the setting is showing set to "right" and not on "left" in that menu. The "Wrist" is specific to the wrist the watch is worn on to correctly track movement of the backswing and then forward movement towards impact to the ball. 

    Some other factors that can cause the concern include:

    • Watch being worn on the underside of the wrist, and not on top of the wrist. The watch must be worn on top of the wrist during golf rounds to ensure proper recording of movement and impact of the club face hitting the ball to record the shot. 
    • 3rd party bands installed onto the watch may also affect the watch from detecting shots due to poor fit, or the band design not allowing proper fit around the wrist.
