S62 froze and after reset it is stuck once I select Language

Hi,

My S62 froze so I did a full reset and upon restarting I am asked to select language which works fine but then I am asked to select my average driver distance and there is a tick but this is in shaded green and won’t let me select. All I can do is alter driver length.

The back button takes me back to the language selection. 

please help!

  • Driver length is not an option when completing the new watch setup screens. Only the driver distance can be adjusted through the watch setup prompt after Language > Units > Then Driver Distance. 

    The + or - button should be clickable and then once the distance for your driver is set, then the green checkmark can be selected to proceed to the next prompt which will display "Pair Phone". 

    If the checkmark cannot be selected at the bottom of the screen after setting the driver distance, then press and hold the middle button on the side of your watch until the display goes blank (takes about 10-15 seconds of holding) > Then release the button > Briefly hold the middle button again until the Triangle logo appears on the screen > The watch should then load to the Language selection and see if then prompts then work properly for you. 

    If you continue to have issues getting past the driver distance prompt, connect the watch to a home computer > Install Garmin Express > Then add your S62 as device and set it up through Garmin Express > During the setup on the computer, you will be prompted to enter all of that information in which will bypass the device setup screens. This option should not be likely to be needed...as this is a very uncommon report that honestly I have not seen before in the past. 

    If you installed a screen protector installed over the watch display, try removing that as well if to see if that was causing the display to be affected for some reason in that section of the screen.

    Thank you for replying to me. I had to get my hands on a Windows machine as my Mac wouldn’t run garmin express.

    I have now connected, run software updates and the watch is showing as connected and synced. However when I unplug from the computer the watch is still on the language select screen with the same problem.

    please can you help again.
