Manual Input of Average Club Distance

I own a Garmin Approach S62 watch as well as some Approach CT 10 sensors.  I would like to input my club distances manually so that the watch will suggest a club for each shot during rounds. In reading prior posts, it seems that this is not possible and that instead you are required to play a few rounds with the sensors before the watch can make club suggestions. However, I see that there was recently a software update, so I thought I would check to see if anyone has found a way to do this address what appears to be a frequently bemoaned shortcoming of this watch.

Side note, I also own an Approach S10. I’m fairly certain that this watch does not have the ability to make club suggestions, but I figured I would ask in case there has been some sort of a software update, or if someone else has found a way to get S 10 to suggest clubs.

If there is no way to manually input average club distances, then I may need to just look for a different watch. Does anyone have recommendations for watches that allow manual input of average club distances, and then suggest clubs based on the conditions of each hole?

  • I think all Garmin's with the Golf app that has "Virtual Caddy" will do this. My Epix Pro with this "Virt. Caddy" suggests after a lot of rounds which might be the best club (=most used) from the actual position. But, frankly said, I use only "tournament mode", the other extra information derive from the play, because you are nearly permanently looking on the watch ...
