Club Data Not Showing in App - Recording shots on watch during round

When playing I am telling the watch which club I used to hit a shot each time the prompt comes up but only 3 clubs are showing any data in the Garmin Golf App.

Do I need to have the app open during round? I use a different product for actual live shot tracking during play but use the S62 for maps and I thought club tracking.

Am I not understanding how this function works? If so, how do I stop it prompting me to enter club selection and just use the course map function.

Thanks

EDIT: Is there any way to manually add my club data so that the watch gives me the right suggestions based on distances I know? Eg. It has literally suggested a PW for a par 4 tee shot.

  • You should load the connect-App and force a sync there. After that, the club-information should be available.
I still haven't figured out, when these informations are synced in background, sometimes within minutes, sometimes not after hours.

  • Club data does not show in Connect from what I can tell, It should be showing in the Golf App which is the one I mean. I've synced both multiple times though and nothing seems to be working.

  • It shows in golf app, that's correct. But the connect app syncs the data from the watch to the phone.
I can often see the activity-data (steps, pulse etc) first and automatically, than the golf app knows the scorecard-data.. After syncing manually (or forgetting about it for some time) the number of strokes, course etc is shown in the connect app and the strokes in the golf-app.

Maybe, syncing in golf-app also helps, I use connect-app, because of fewer touches needed - all just my experience.

  • Aah I see. Thanks for the clarification. I'll give that a try. Thank you.
