S62 won’t charge

My s62 had about 60% when it suddenly died. Now I can’t seem to charge it. I’ve tried different power sources and different cables. Also tried hold middle button for 30 then 5 secs. Nothing works. Help please.

  • I’ve been to the local Garmin service centre. They say the battery is dead and the watch is junk because of this. Advised me to buy a new watch. If this is Garmins care I will never buy another of their products in my life. How can a dead battery junk a 600 dollar watch that is only3 yrs old!!!

  • Suggest contacting Garmin Support directly via phone or chat.

  • Here are the most reliable steps to attempt in this circumstance:

    • connecting the watch specifically through the direct USB port on a home computer.
    • If you do not see the watch power on right away, then press and hold the middle button on the side of the watch > Disconnect the cable from the back of the watch > Then reconnect it and you should see the triangle logo appear on the screen.
    • If still no logo or screen response...clean the four metal charging contact dots on the port of the back of the watch with a small amount of isopropyl alcohol and a q tip.
    • Inspect the four metal prongs on the connector end of the charging cable, Ensure all four pins are equally spaced, sticking out the same length, all should be shiny and the same color. None of the pins should appear darker in color, pushed in, bent, or missing.
    • Ensure the Garmin logo is showing stamped on the USB end of the cable. Our cable used on the watch is proprietarily manufactured by Garmin, so ensure a 3rd party cable is not used as those tend to not be up to par on quality and often fail.
