How to make sure autoshot data is saved and added to a scorecard?

I have an S62 and I have CT10s on every club.

Normally through the score cards I can see each shot on each hole and get stats like fairways hit% and longest driver for a round. I am assuming this comes under what Garmin call auto-shot data.

But for my round before last, it’s just not there, it would have all been recorded by my watch at the time but it has not been saved. For the last round it is there as normal, so nothing is broken.

I suspect I pressed “end round” on the watch too soon, like I pressed end round before I had saved the scorecard in the Garmin Golf app or before the watch had synced to the Garmin golf  app. Or its also posible that the watch was never connected to the Garmin golf phone app during the round on course. I am not sure

If the order in which I do these type of things;

* Connect the watch to the app on course
* Save score in app
* Press end round on the watch
* sync watch to app
* Do whatever else

If the order in which I do those type of things determines whether my shot data is saved as it should be or lost forever, then I need to see the order I should do those things in formally document from Garmin so don’t do them in the wrong order and lose the data which is the main reason I use the CT10 and S62.

So how can I make sure autoshot data is saved and added to a scorecard?

  • It happened again. I am very upset. When I finished playing I entered my score in the app and saved/ended the round in the app.

    But the watch still had me on the 18th hole. Hours later and back home, the score card was saved but there was no shot data and the watch still had me playing the 18th hole. There was no way around it, what was I going to do? keep the watch on, never pressing end round until it ran out of battery? Or charge it and never press end round until I play again in 2 days? I did actually try powering the watch down but it said something like "are you sure you want to power down? That will end your round" So what could I do? with the scorecard already saved I ended the round on the watch, and now wouldn't you know it, hours later and the watch synced manny times, there is no shot data on the round!

    I don't care about scoring, the only reason I have thousands of dollars of Garmin golf gear is for the auto shot data and every time I play its a complete mystery if or how it will get saved or not. If I don't get a good explanation I will be getting rid of all this.

  • Not sure what Your issue is, but there are some things in Your post that puzzles me.

    First of all, I never enter any scores in the app during the round. The scores are kept on the watch until You finish round.

    Syncing of the watch scores to Garmin happens automatically when You finish the round provided that the watch is connected via bluetooth to Your mobile, and Your mobile has internet connection.

    The watch itself does not have internet connection, so needs to use Your mobile for that.

    If Your watch does not register scores on hole 18 for any reason, You enter the score for that hole in the watch (press red tab on the watch and then scorecard). And then You can end round (also on watch).

    The watch should then upload the scorecard to Garmin, and should appear in the Garmin Golf app provided You have chosen to store scorecard on the watch when starting the round.

  • Same thought here, I've never used the app at the same time as the watch and always get the tracking. Maybe it's the link between the two at fault.

  • I have scoring on the watch turned off because I don't want to score and having scoring turned on, but not managing it manually throughout the round, makes the watch unusable because it is always stuck asking about your score on hole 1 and wont move on to the next hole unless you answer its series of questions about your score on hole 1 and this is the same with "auto" scoring turned on.

    I never enter real scores, I just enter fake scores in the app after the round so it will save the scorecard because saving a complete scorecard is the only way it will save auto-shot data.

  • Still puzzeled.

    You have scoring turned off, saving tuned off, and wondering why it doesen't work?

    It must be faster to answer the questions on the watch than entering a fake score in the app?

    For me it takes about 3 secs, Yes, 2, no. Move on Slight smile

  • I don't think there is any such thing "Saving turned off". If there is please tell me where and how I can turn saving on.

    yes, 2, no x 18 thats 54 button presses for scoring when I don't want to score. And they have to pressed between holes when I want to be putting my glove on, have a drink of water, chat with my mates et cetera. No thanks. Pressing buttons on the app is a bit easer than on the watch and I can do it later at home.

  • When You start the round You should be asked if the round should be saved.

    If You press no, the result is given.

    And You have to enter the scores after each hole. If You decide not to do so, ok by me, but don't expect the watch to be a "magician" that knows Your score on each hole. And in my opinion it's fast and easier to do when You still remember the scores.

  • Thanks for your help, sorry for my snarky tone, I am not grumpy at you, I am grumpy at my products and its coming out in this discussion.

    No the watch does not ask me if the round should be saved, and if it did I would select yes. If possible take a pic of your watch asking you if the round should be saved.

    I don't want the watch to know or remember my score (this seems to be what no one can comprehend), I want it to know and remember by shots; the club and the distance, then add that info to the score card. Which it does most of the time. It gets the shots (club and distance) from the CT10s and it remembers them until it syncs them up to my scorecard (that I make in the app) or or forgets them if I press end round on the watch before it has done that.

    It has worked perfectly for 9 of the 11 rounds I have tried it. But the 2 wear it did not work are so frustrating since its the only reason I use the products at all.

  • Press the red button on the watch.and then the Play Golf flag.

    Then it should come finding satellites, press jump over.

    Load a course.

    Then it should come Save score?

    After that it should come select tee.

    If the save score question doesen't appear, it must be another setting missing. We can find out if You confirm the question does not appear.

  • Okay I thoughts thats what you were getting it, it say

    "Keep score?" Yes or No.

    And I select no.
