Cracked glass on S62 watch.

My Garmin S62 Approach is a year and a half old and has a crack in the glass face. I was disappointed to learn that the glass cannot be replaced and the only option is to spend $140 to have Garmin swap it for another watch.  If the glass is so fragile as to be susceptible to crack without any perceived impact, and is not repairable,  this is not the watch for me.

  • The Approach S62 comes equipped with Gorilla Glass 3 as the lens material, made by Corning. Gorilla Glass offers extra durability compared to the acrylic, and chemically strengthened lens options offered on other watch options in the Approach golf series. While Gorilla Glass offers more durability compared to the more standard lens materials Garmin offers, it is not impervious to damage, and can still be scratched.

Garmin offers repair exchanges for the Approach S62 in circumstances where hardware is needing repaired resulting from accidental damage to the glass lens.
