Issue with scorecard + shot tracking for same day front 9 rounds for S62 and/or Garmin golf app

I played front 9 of a local course (white tees), and return to hole 1 to play front 9 again (blue tees).  I ended the first front 9 on s62, and saved round/scorecard (I used Garmin Connect to sync data first before starting second front 9) First front 9 scorecard will show up on Garmin Golf app scorecards.  So far everything is fine.

Start second front 9 start s62 golf round - watch asked for which tees (blue), and whether I want to keep score (Yes).  S62 was able to start round, provide yardages, asked for which club I used.  However, it will NOT record score as scorecard shows old score from first front 9 white tees. At the end of each hole, it just jumps to next hole without prompting for score.  At the end of round, I go to s62 to end round and save scorecard.

After syncing watch with phone again via Connect, Garmin golf app on home screen is stuck asking ("Resume round at XXXX course"..... Resume, Save, or Discard).  Resume/Save does nothing (Golfer graphics shows with animation, but nothing happens).   Discard will work, and it would erase the scorecard for the first front 9 from both golf app and Garmin Connect (online), once I re-sync the watch, the first front 9 will populate again with proper scoring, and shot tracking.  However, the second front 9 data is gone.

Checking Garmin connect, under Activities, the proper 2 x front 9 activities does show up.

Thus this seems to be a bug in the s62 and/or golf app specifically.

This situation has been duplicated twice for the past 2 weeks (Feb 11 & 18).  This issue happened sometime after Jan 2, 2023 as s62 and app tracked properly on this date (also no issues during 2022).
