S62 approach.problem downloading data

I have a s62 approach. About 2 years old. charges well with the current USB . However when connected to the usB on my computer fails to recognize  the unit , hence I am not able to down load my data. Suspected something is wrong with the USB chord so checked it out with another Garmin VIVO watch , and there was no problem with downloading data from that second unit. Can you pleas help

  • Normally You should get a question on Your watch when plugging it in, if You want to use Media Transfer Protocol.

    Answer Yes.

  • The Approach S62 uses MTP (media transfer). If the computer you are using is MacOS, the device drive with the GARMIN folder showing the storage files will not appear conventionally on the Mac.

Depending on the model of Vivo you mentioned having, if the Vivo does not have Garmin Pay, Mass Storage would be visible on the Mac, as with previous models of our Approach golf watches that are not using MTP prior to the introduction of Garmin Pay.

Further info on our support page for the topic: My Approach S62 Is Not Recognized By Computer

If you are using a MacOS, the Garmin Express program is the main indicator of the Approach S62 being connected, unless a 3rd party file transfer program is in use.
