Had to restart round few times, data before the last restart lost.

Fair to say I'm pretty disappointed to be posting a support query after one round.

Brand new S62, sw v 4.00

Start round, seems fine.

Got an alert for something, continued playing. Next time looking at watch, the golf activity had stopped.

Click to start the activity, prompted to restart round, say yes, continue.

Happened again, continue.

End round at the end, get home, sync, there is a the full scorecard but three distinct golf "activities" and only shots from the 14th hole are recorded.

Is it normal for the golf to stop if an alert received? (really stupid if so)

Could I inadvertently have stopped the round when viewing/dismissing an alert? (somewhat stupid if it's so easy)

Have I nudged buttons somehow to end a round? (Should not be able to with just accidental activity)

Is there a setting needs changed?

  • I was testing by starting golf activity and it appears that notifications from mail, whatsapp etc are suppressed when the activity is active. This makes sense to me as you might not want a wrist vibration as you go to hit a shot.

But checking notifications from the time I was playing golf shows that the notifications received (that appear to have crashed the activity) were from the Garmin connect app related to badges.

So it seems to be the case that alerts from Garmin Connect cause the golf activity to crash, or at least stop.

This seems absurd, either all notifications should be supressed or notifications shouldn't stop an activity.
