Golf membership on the Approach S62

Hey Garmin,

Question on the S62, system>about>golf membership,

mine reads “active until 12/06/22”.

wanted to know what this means. The watch is 2 weeks old, just got it shipped-in.

Today was prompted through the watch couldnt verify membership.

need help me on this.

  • Hello, typically our Golf Membership covers our Green Contours feature. Our watches don't normally come with this membership out of the box as it is optional and requires a subscription fee.

    Was this watch purchased new?

  • Good morning Rob, i have a question about the golf membership,  i have the approach s62, r10 and z82 gps from you guys.  i use my android phone mostly BUT i did purchase the golf yearly membership on my ipad to use with the r10 for home tee hero,  should my watch and gps be getting the green contours?  i check the watch and it says that there are no memberships associated with it.

  • Based on previous answers on this topic Garmin "has a problem" with membership cross platforms.

If You have subscribed on Your iPad Garmin will use Your apple id, an the subscription will not be assosiated with Your e-mail account on Your android devices.

And vice versa. If You subscribe to Your android account, it will not work on Your apple devices.

Garmin-Rob can correct me if I'm wrong, but this is a known issue for many.

  • It is not so much an issue, rather a limitation. Google Play and the Apple App Store are two different platforms (companies), requiring two different logins (Google vs Apple ID), resulting in any saved payment method for apps/subscriptions being set up for that particular companies app store only.

This results in you needing to purchase the Golf Membership again on Apple, for example even if you have already purchased it on Android.

  • Welk, in my opinion Garmin is one company and it should be possible to have one membership regardless if You use the app on an Android or Apple unit.

Other companies manage to do it. There You can have the app installed on windows, mac, android or linux, and only pay one membership fee.

So this is a lame excuse if You ask me. The simple solution is to have membership tied up to your email account, and use that as a login regardless of platform.

  • is it possible to have my watch/gps sync with the ipad that has the subscription to activate the green contours on them?
