Calorie accuracy

So yesterday I played 18 holes walking and carried my clubs and started the activity on thr watch. It showed I walked 5.8 miles and burned 1101 calories. 

Today I played the same 18 carrying my clubs but this time did not start the activity on the watch, relying only on the watch monitoring my heart rate steps and distance travelled etc and it shows I burned less than half that fir the same activity. 

I play a lot of golf and been consuming calories based on my recorded activity. No wonder I'm not losing any weight. 

Whi h reading is more accurate? Or are both way off the mark?
