Approach S62 Swing Tempo not registering

I got my Approach S62 today and have been trying out all the features and cannot get Swing Tempo to register anything. It doesn't seem to register anything. I have searched on the forums and one suggestion was to do a factory reset which I've done with no luck. The gesture function on the backlight works so it would seem the device can detect motion.

Please advise.

Are you just swinging the club or hitting a ball? I found that you have to hit a ball for swing tempo to register anything.

Thanks for replying. Just swinging the club, how does it know you've hit a ball?

I guess there is a small jolt when you hit the ball which is not there if you just swing the club. This is how the watch knows you have got to the bottom of the swing and it can then calculate your swing tempo. I found swing tempo only works when hitting a ball, it did not work when using the plastic practise balls.

Equally, a practise swing does not register as a shot on the course whereas hitting a ball does register as a shot and leads to a prompt as to what club you used if that setting is enabled.

Thanks Dave. I'll give it a go. That makes sense as the rest of the watch works fine so didn't think it would be a fault
