I bought an Approach S62 today, along with 14 CT10 golf tags, and the watch is completely unusable unfortunately. The backlight gesture doesn't work and has never worked, regardless of what motions are attempted to make it come on (it has never come on with a gesture once, but the backlight does work when the buttons are pressed). All of the settings are set to how they should be set and the software version is 2.6, but the gesture still doesn't work.
I've read lots of other threads from the past few years on this so it is clearly a long running problem, but it seems that it has never been resolved and Garmin support even locked down the main thread about it. I don't know whether it is a problem with the accelerometer, or if the hardware is just this bad.
@Garmin, can you offer any solution on this now?
