Shot count on each hole

Hello,

I am very frustrated that the watch doesn’t show the number of shots you have made before getting to the Green. Is there any way besides going into <<Last shot…>>? I find it surprising that something as basics and obvious as how many shots you have done before putting isn’t there on the screen.

thank you

  • Yes, selecting Last Shot would be the way to view shot history on the Approach S62 for the round you are playing.

  • Thank you rob. Is there a way to change the order of the menu so that last shot appears at the top?

Also, why does the watch offer X number of shots when you get to the Green (I think it shows par) if the watch knows you have done more shorts? Example: par 4 hole you do 7 shots before hitting green, you get to the Green and it suggests 4, you need to manually adjust, but you don’t remember if you did 6 or 7 (+the putts!)… you need to press back, go into last shot, add the putts, change score… Why doesn’t it show 7 before putting so that you must add the putts?

    thank you

  • There isn't a way to move the Last Shot option unfortunately.

In regards to entering strokes, thputts screen of the scorecard is separate from the total strokes (score) for the hole. The device will not let you enter in more putts than the score allows depending on the par for the hole. For example, if your score is 4 with 2 putts taken on a par 4, you need to enter 4 for the Strokes, then 2 for the Putts

Stat Tracking needs to be enabled on your device to allow you to enter the fairway hits and putts on each hole after you enter the score.

  • Thank you Rob. Yea, you are right on the putts being separate from the strokes; but I meant for strokes. On a par 4, if you have already done 6 strokes before the Green, why does it suggest 4? Imagine I do 6 strokes and 2 putts; y would finish the round, watch would suggest 4 (not sure why not 6, as it’s the bear minimum it know I have hit), and then I have to manually add 8 and then 2 putts. That’s where it’s frustrating. It should at least suggest the number of strokes you’ve already done (in this example 6), right?
    thank you

  • It will choose the par for the hole since it will always be the most consistent number. The watch has little issue recording fairway hits, but when it comes to putts, these are a little more difficult to track due to being low impact shots (a CT10 sensor would resolve this issue) so it will default to par for that hole when entering the score.

This is why you would need to bring up the "last shot" menu. I agree that it would be nice if there was some indication on the scorecard as to what the watch thinks are the fairway hits without having to bring up this menu.

  • Precisely… if it has counted 6 shots, not sure why it would suggest the par of the hole… for “not so good players”, many times you forget how many shots you have done, so it is surprising threat there is no counter on the main screen…

    thanks Rob

  • I have the 62 for quite a while.  Lately when I go to enter score instead of showing par for the hole it takes off 2 strokes and shows no putts.  This never happened before.  I am not on handicap scoring.

  • It sounds like your watch may be set to Stableford scoring - which assigns points and the points are determined by your score. Follow the steps linked below for making sure your Scoring Method is set to Stroke Play.
