My Garmin stats tell me that I hit 43% of greens in regulation. Which is uncanny because they do say an 8 handicapper should do that. I am and apparently I do.
Anyhoo, my Garmin stats also tell me that I leave my approaches short 31% of the time, long 8%, right 20% and left 10%.
31 + 8 + 20 + 10 = 69%.
100 - 69 = 31%.
So why is my average GIR 43% when I'm only hitting greens 31% of the time?
And on another note, for those of you who, like me, have used a 1 iron in your stats for a recovery and 2 iron for a mishit for entering the club, I suggest don't bother. Garmin is telling me my 2 iron is coming up short lately and that maybe I should club up to my recovery 1 iron next time. I'm going to delete those clubs from my Garmin bag.
