While I'm keeping the paper scorecard, I don't like to also keep the score on the watch. However, after the match I like to add the strokes manually. Is that possible?

Yes, the score can be entered manually after the round.
How Do I Edit a Golf Scorecard from a Garmin Device? | Garmin Support
Hi Garmin-Rob, thanks for your answer. In what mode should I start the round on my watch. Normally, if I want to record the score on my watch I select the course, then "Keep score?" yes "Tournament mode?" yes. If I want to add the score later I presume I should select "Keep score?" no. Should I keep the round open or can I end the round on the watch , before I edit it on my phone using the Garmin Golf app? Thx
You can select no on keep score, you just won't have the shot measurement. Or, you can keep score and then ignore the score prompts and it will still transition holes.
Then you can add the score manually after the fact using the steps in the support article I linked above.
Hello, I'll be on the course on Friday and check it out. THX!
Hi Rob, yesterday I played and put the watch in stroke play mode, recording scores: "yes". It prompts for entering score at the end of each hole. If I ignore that, the watch doesn't recognise the fact that I moved to the next hole and the strokes on hole 2 are added to the list of hole 1. What to do (apart from entering the scores after each hole:-))? Cheers, Huub
You will need to manually change holes:
