How to turn off shot tracking

Can the S62 be used strictly for measuring distance and recording my score only?

I do not want to deal with wearing a watch on my right arm and i do not want the distraction of inputting my clubs when the watch doesn't sense a shot was hit.

I only want a watch for measuring distance to hazards, the pin and recording my score at the end of the hole so i don't have to pull my cell phone in and out of my pocket to do so.

Thanks for your help

  • Sure - use middle button to turn off Club Prompt and use watch just to show distance and record hole by hole score.  When finished round, save it and then use Garmin Connect to upload the info.  No need to have a Bluetooth connection to the phone while the round is in progress.  You should have the watch on your wrist to get the distance measurement from your location, otherwise if you leave it on your cart then you would get distances relative to the cart position.

  • thanks.  ive made sure the Club Prompt is off.  Now im nearing my 6th hour trying to Locate Sattelittes, but nada.  A reminder of another one of the many things i went through last time i bought this watch and eventually returned it that rarely worked.

  • Have you tried using Garmin Express to ensure all the latest versions of software have been updated to the watch.  There's a file stored to the watch as part of that process that is supposed to sct as a sort of cache to help the watch determine more quickly where all the GPS satellites are.
