Course update is on watch but not the App.

I recently updated my S62 as my home club had built a completely new 7th hole. The new hole, a par 3, appeared on the watch, however when I get to the hole my watch only displays the fixed layout and doesn’t register any distances. When I walk to the green the new hole displayed on my watch stays fixed at 140yds.

once synced to the app, the app appears to show the old hole. Any suggestions welcome.

- Hi Chris, I did an update a few weeks ago and the hole layout updated on my watch, and the par is amended from 4 to 3. it just seems that when I reach that hole the watch no longer adjusts as I move around…

Hmmmm... That is really bizarre behavior and does not make much logical sense unless there is a course issue with that specific course hole despite the image update.

You can try resetting your Approach…

It sounds like your new club hole has not been updated yet for your golf course map. Update your watch golf courses using Garmin Express if you have not yet updated this season. There was a new courses update towards late Spring just before Summer began.

If still an issue, please use our Golf Course Report Form that will go straight to our Golf cartographers so they can get that hole updated for your course on the next worldwide courses update.

The distance to front, middle and back stays fixed. I the. Have to change hole manually on the next tee.

You can try resetting your Approach S62 - Use the Factory Reset section of this Support Center article: "Approach S62 Reset"

If the issue continues, please use the Golf Course Report Form to let the cartography team know of the issue. If you know anyone else using any Garmin Golf device with that course on it, knowing whether or not they are having the same issue would be good information to have to get a feel for the cause of the issue.

Ok, I’m playing in the morning and will try that. Any suggestions as to why the hole isn’t updated in the golf app?

If not updated on the Golf APP, I would be surprised there was a full update of the course on your watch too. With the Golf APP not having the course updated too, further strongly suggests the course needs further work by our Golf Cartography team.

Please note, the 1% scenario is if you find out later only your Approach S62 is having issues and other golfers at your course using any of our other Golf devices are 'not' having an issue on hole #7, you can reset your watch.
