Software Update coming?

I'm new to the watch so not much history.

How often do we get a software update? Garmin site says they update 2-3 times per year but we are 8 months on 2.5 now and nothing.

and when an update comes, are there big changes? No history of change logs in these forums so hard to know what/if anything is being done.

    No idea !! I was in contact with Garmin yesterday regarding the ‘ notification ‘ issue , and they are aware and said a software update will be out ‘shortly’ . Don’t hold out much hope though as they’ve been saying this for the last 6 months !!!! :-(

    From what I have seen they are super slow to update anything, I have had a request added to the "request list" 12 months ago and nothing have happened. If i knew the software development was this slow and bad I would have gone for a Shot Scope or similar that actually care about their product and their users.

    If this next update isn't really big with alot of requestes features than this will be the first and last garmin golf watch i own unfortunately.

    As a long-time Garmin user, I can say the other devices (Forerunner, fenix, Edge cycling computers, etc) get very frequent updates and generally receive a significant number of features and bug fixes.  For example, my Venu 2 recently received a nice update that significantly improved the "AutoShot" feature.  Although I don't own a golf-specific device, my guess is that those device don't quite get the attention as the others.

    Have to agree. Seems like the golf watch market share for Garmin isn't big enough to bother with any serious updates. Effort is put elsewhere.

    I suspect we will see a S64 for sale before we see any real updates to the app or software on the S62.
