List of Problems - Please help

ive tried the watch at 2 different courses.  Loaded the software, plugged it into my mac and after it didn't work during the first round, i erased the unit and started from scratch.

I had the same problem both rounds.

After i select the course and choose to keep score and indicate the tee's I'll be playing only the distance appears.  No actual course visual.  So, I figured I'd use it just for distance.  I hit a few balls and only about 1 time per hole did the watch as me which club i hit.  I had no idea how to make the watch ask me which club i hit after every hit.  Occasionally, at the end of the hole, it would begin asking me (despite only asking me for my club selection 1 time), how many shots i hit, putts, where i landed in the fairway and whether i had any penalties.

How do i get the course to appear beside the distance to the green, middle and back so i can check the distances to hazards and so on?

How do i get this watch to ask me for the club i had just hit?

The watch often froze at the same distance for many holes.  All i could figure out was to change the hole.  But, it kept freezing.

I need up reporting to using a free app on mu iPhone 12 mini called V1 golf (or something like that) and had to carry it in my pocket and pull it out after every shot just like i did before i dropped $600 to buy the watch.

Can someone please help me out here?

Thanks so much

  • It sounds like Big Numbers may be enabled. Please disable it by doing the following:

Press MENU button > Select Setttings > Golf Settings > Toggle Big Numbers off (bar should be grey)

Once that is disabled you should see the Course visual.

In regards to the club prompt, typically it will only ask for the club if the AutoShot feature has detected a shot.

Please view the following suggestions to ensure that feature works optimally.

    -AutoShot Accuracy Recommendations

To fix the freezing issue, make sure the watch is up to date with Garmin Express

  • Rob, for the AutoShot Accuracy Recommendations, i have changed the wrist to the right because i shoot left.  For the shot with a real golf call.  Can this be done at the driving range in input / recorded in advance of the round to help with detection when playing the next round or is this direction the same that I've followed during my attempts to use the watch the last 4 rounds which is hitting real golf balls to no avail?

Also, for wedges and putts, how do i prompt the watch to input the club after i have hit the wedge or putter if the watch did not prompt me to do so (because it has never promoted me to do so).  Do i need to be standing in the spot i actually hit the club (essentially, id need to deal with inputting the club before i move to me next shot or pick up the ball from the cup?

  • The AutoShot feature is designed to detect shots while on the golf course, as it will measure shots from hole to hole. Shots with putts and wedges are harder to detect due to lower impact. If it does not prompt you on the watch, the clubs can be added post round using the Garmin Golf app for wedges at the very least.

-AutoShot Feature on Garmin Golf Watches and Devices

To get the best shot detection, adding our CT10 sensors to those low impact clubs would allow them to be detected automatically.
