Lost ball in round?

Hi,

let me try to explain my point as a user story:

I am a bad golfer (this is pretty accurate), but I appreciate data accuracy and since I am a horrible golfer I tend to mishit and lose balls every now and then or maybe sometimes multiple times a round. However, I also like to play on but be honest with myself and would appreciate to just classify my last hit as "lost ball" and have that hole score set to 0 (for stableford). As I would just drop a new ball wherever I am (or believe my ball went to roughly). Ideally it would negate the score and classify as strikethrough. IF I could wish for anything I'd then still like to track hits I take onwards up to the point I enter the green, but instead of the scorecard a "go to next hole" button would show. So I can still play the hole rather normally without screwing up all the data points.

Not sure exactly what would be considered more convenient. At the end of the day, it is a penalty stroke which as you stated you do track. Are you wanting to "classify" your penalties like "lost" or "OB…

Don’t you just enter it on the hole score as a penalty ??

That's what I technically do right now to cross it out, but I would wish there was a more convenient way?

Yeah, exactly classify as ob or lost. I see your point and guess the more I think about it that its not includable conveniently anywhere, probably just manually handling it is less troublesome

While it may be good to assess your game from that perspective, it would take an extra step if a golfer entered a penalty and then a prompt for: lost, ob, water, unplayable, etc. What's important is knowing where your game needs improvement. Are you hitting your fairways? greens in regulation? limiting your putts? Those are the things i care about. Yes, i wish it also tracked sand shots to know if i saved par from a bunker.
