How to setup for a correct SD

Hi, I am new on the s62 and in NL per 1st of march the whs system kicks in.

Can someone plz suggest the correct settings to get the correct score differential (day result) after finishing 9h?

Thx in advance.

Paul

  • I doubt very much that you will get the SD onto your watch.  The daily SD/PCC is calculated based on the average of all players for that specific course from your region that day and then used to adjust your personal SD. I don't believe for example, the UK would check-in with the US each day to update the PCC data for each of the hundreds of courses that exist in the US, and modify your final SD.  I think the best we will get from Garmin is an indicator of your net score for the course without the day by day PCC adjustment.  Happy for Garmin to state otherwise though.

  • Thx. For the reply.
I only want to know the SD. I am fully aware of the pcc, low and hi cap and excessive score corrections.
    So still...

Can somebody plz tell me the correct settings?

  • There isn't a watch option to enter SD, don't know whether any watch would in truth. I've asked Garmin to look at WHS implementation though so that you enter your course handicap at start of each round.

  • Set the watch Handicap Scoring mode and use Slope/Index - you then just enter your current Handicap Index.  The watch has that info to then turn it into your current course handicap based on the tee you choose to play from.  I'm based in Canada and my course handicap is calculated correctly based on the Golf Canada index I enter.  As I said I doubt very much that Garmin or any other golf device supplier is going to connect with the country region to update each player's individual handicap index on a day by day basis.  Just update it manually once a week or once a month depending on what you need.  The index change is not going to affect how well you play or the distance you hit on any given day.  Might change your final score slightly at the end of the round but that's the least of my concerns when I'm out on the course.  I'm just trying to get the ball safely to the green Grinning
