Locating satellites issue on the S62

I got my S62 yesterday and read last night about the problems with not finding any satellite signals, or taking for too long. So I tried to locate satellites before I went to bed, waking up this morning to the watch still "locating satellites" xD. In the other thread, Chris said to look for the new update, also for the GPS to update to 2.80.

So I did the latest update this morning (2.40). However, when I go to settings -> system -> about -> software versions, it shows GPS Version 2.90 (!) with that explanation mark. However, I'm trying to locate satellites as I'm writing this because it's taking already 15 minutes. Is my watch broken? -.- Not really the excitement I was hoping for when buying a 600 dollar watch.

    Locating satellites worked now, when being outdoors. But in my software version of the GPS, there is an explanation mark behind the 2.90. Why? Is that some kind of warning?

    Anytime you see an exclamation mark behind any version of software when you go down to see all the details, it means their may be a newer software update available. It is nothing bad regarding the functionality of your watch. I double checked and your GPS showing 2.90 is considered current and up to date so you are good to go.

    Hi, my S62 seems to be getting issues in the last few weeks. It doesn't pick up satellites anymore or if it does it takes at least an hour to find them so is useless for the beginning of a round. I have done all the troubleshooting recommended on the garmin website and it is still not locating the satellites. It used to pick up the course almost immediately. I am playing the same courses I always have so no chance it could be the courses. Any ideas on what I do next?

    New software update 2.50. Install Via garmin express

    I'm on software version 2.50 and having this issue. Already dealing with the notification issue. This is total BS. I'm so tired of this crap watch. Can anyone please tell me if this GPS issue can be resolved?????? Ridiculous.

    for a 2nd time, Ive bought a S62 to give it another try.  I figure if i can just get the distance feature and score keeping and completely avoid the club selection nightmare, id be totally happy with just these 2 functions.  5 hours have past and Ive reset the watch twice.  Both times, Ive observed "Locating Satellites" for hours and nothing..  Software is version 2.6.  Garmin Golf and Connect mobile and on my mac.  Ive literally bought this watch in 2 different countries and tried it in 2 different countries and still, can't get it to work.  As well, 2 different (new iPhone 12's (because my last ph had a malfunction with the camera, so i know have a different iPhone as well).  Ive never encountered a product with so many problems.  Looks like I'll be retuning this S62 as well (last time i tried to get the watch working for weeks and it never did the things its supposed to do and i would've kept it just for distance and score keeping last time as well..

    I’m on version 2.50 and I’m still not getting satellites.

    Mine just started doing the exact same thing. Locating satellites?? Then nothing happens for hours. Tried everything. Still not working
