autoshot detection

The autoshot detection on my S62 misses about 50% of my shots. And I am not talking about putts, pitches or arranged shots, but straight shots anywhere between 50 and 200+ meters. Also when I play a round, there are always several holes where not a single shot seems to have been detected. Why is that?

  • Make sure you have the correct arm that you wear it on set in the options, also I noticed that if I didnt have a snug fit it would start missing shots so make sure you have it pretty tight.

  • I am pretty sure both are satisfied. It also seems that 1) it is mostly but not only shots from the Tee that are missing. Sometimes it doesn’t capture a single tee shot, like today and 2) it seems to go in waves. Sometimes I play several rounds without a problem and sometimes round after round it captures very few shots.

just to be sure I am right-handed (glove on the left hand) so watch on the left hand. Right?

  • Yes that is correct. Well only thing i can think of then is to make sure you the latest firmware, if not I suggest updating it and see if it helps, otherwise you will have to take it with the support.

I seem to have the same problem.  I just bought the watch a couple months ago so have only played 5 rounds, but I don't know that it's detected any of my shots.  When I sync to my phone no shot statistics show up, and I've never seen the black header on the watch.  The autoshot selectin is on (green), and watch on my left wrist for right hander.  Maybe user error but I don't know what else to do other than invest another $300 for the C10 things.  Can anyone confirm that will fix this problem?

  • I have contacted customer support of my country for this, but they don’t even reply. I have heard it before that Garmin has absolutely appalling customer support. Mine is still not working.

  • For sure a user error since basically nobody else has the problem of not recording ANY shots.

That's great news - I thought it was a problem with the watch.  Can you tell me then what I need to do differently?  Thanks, Nate

Hello, I have exactly the same problem. It's really enjoying. I had the watch since June without any problem of detection but the last month has been erratic .please can someone help?

  • You can try with Garmin customer support but they are notoriously unresponsive. I contacted them several times over a three week period and did not even get a reply. So I decided to mail their CEO and as that didn't seem to work, I also contacted the executive chairman a few days later. That seemed to work because the very next day customer support was all over me. I have now sent the defective watch back and they have just sent me a new one, which I should receive in the next few days. Hopefully that one will work ! So, good luck to you!

I am sorry you are having Autoshot issues. This support center article gives suggestions:

If your Approach S62 was working well for Autoshot and then it became erratic, it may be a hardware related issue. Please reach out to your regional Garmin Golf Product Support for further assistance.
