The Golf APP is specifically passing the wind data through the internet and to your watch while you Golf. If you are using an iPhone, if you normally close your Connect Mobile APP, close…
It worked fine for me yesterday. I had to load the Garmin golf app on my iPhone first and then sync it with the watch. I then started a new round, on the watch and not in the app, and wind data was there…
Thanks very much. Pleased to report that sequence worked for me on Saturday and I was able to access the wind data for the first time in months.
I had the same problem today and thought it was because too far away from the cart with my phone, but i ended up needing to start the Golf app (to check connectivity) before it worked. Might be a coincidence, but something you could check/test as well. I have an iPhone and it might be some restrictions on background usage from apps. I don't have the watch on me right now, so i'm not able to do testing myself.
Thanks Marve
I ended up deleting and reinstalling the Garmin Connect and Golf apps and it seemed to solve the issue
Hi. I am having exactly the same issue. I am not clear which app I am supposed to open when I play a round? Is it the Garmin Golf App or the Garmin Connect App which needs to be open to provide the data to the synced watch?

If you are using an iPhone, if you normally close your Connect Mobile APP, close out your GCM APP and open it again then leave the Golf APP open while golfing to receive the wind data to your Approach S62.
Please leave the Golf APP open while Golfing to receive the wind data to your Approach S62 and have the Connect Mobile APP closed.
Thanks Chris. I will try again at the weekend with the Connect Mobile App open and see how I do.

Loading the Garmin Connect app and syncing stops the wind data being transmitted, just close Garmin Connect and resync the Garmin Golf app and the wind data shows up again.
using 2.40 and latest version of apps.
DaveBedford Thank you!

I have the same issue showing "Unable to get wind data. Check Garmin Golf app connection." when I tried to get the wind data during a round. I've updated the software, turned off/on the watch and phone, left Golf app open and closed Connect app, uninstalled/re-installed Golf app and Connect app but it didn't work. Could you please help me to use the wind function?
