CT10 successor / new version?

Hi there, I'm keen on getting the Approach CT10's to accompany my S62. However it is now 2020 and the sensors are more than 2 years old.

Is there any word or chance of them getting updated or replaced by a new (thinner / better) version model any time soon?

I Would hate to spend 299,- on them and seeing a new version come out soon after, just because I've missed some press release for example.

There are currently not any announcements regarding new generations of the Approach CT10 sensors, or for other club sensor options at this time.

I have had my CT10's for a couple of years, they work fine. However the tops keep falling off (I have taped some of them to hopefully help). I had 15 CT sensors that I purchased in 5 sets of three…

I could think of a few things these devices could do especially if they are going to keep them so big and fat. You could add a gyroscope and accelerometer. it means you would need a bigger battery…

I don’t mind the bulk, sometimes they come off on swings so it makes them easier to find. The putting recognition isn’t the best but I’m used to manually changing the putts on my watch so no big deal there…

I would gladly buy a Garmin golf watch if only they could commit on building better sensors than Arccos.

Has there been a software update since version 2? The accuracy on mine is terrible, constantly adding too many strokes or too few strokes.

And how can it think that I am finished playing a hole when I haven't even used the putter yet, the chance of it being a hole in one is extremely slim, so why bring up the scorecard when I approach the green when I have a full set of clubs tracked through ct10

Have you done the recent firmware update to the S62 watch? Some like it, others don't. The new version doesn't automatically bring up the score entry screen until you've walked closer to the next tee. instead it shows a pencil icon that you touch too open up the stroke entry screen.

Garmin is always working on working on innovating new designs, and products for golf...so this response is not to say that there never will be new club sensor designs in the future. Keep an eye out on Garmin.com, or other official Garmin social media pages for announcements as they are made available.

The Approach CT-10 club tracking sensors are a great option for automating scoring, averaging club distances, chips, and putts when paired with compatible golf products like the Approach S62 on the course.
