Track distance with watch S62

Is there a way you can track your distance with your clubs (when shot on the green) exactly without needing the CT10..?

Because if you walk onto the green, the watch will just take the middle of the green as distance you shot on the S60. This way you never get your real distances called in.

It's absurd you pay for a expensive premium watch which cannot track distance precise when you get it on the green without the (way to expensive) CT10.

Is the S62 capable to pinpoint the location where the ball landend?

And discussed on the S60 forum, would be great feature to pinpoint where the flag is, so you can see your putts.

  • Your Autoshot feature is keeping track of your shot distance. From the point of your shot taken until you reach your ball, that metric is being recorded and will be reflected when you review your synced scorecard in the Connect Mobile APP or Garmin Connect online.

  • You can always bring up "last shot" in the menu, after you enter your score. You do have to navigate down a couple levels but the data is there.  I often do this if I want to see how far my last fairway hit was.

  • Than you for your respone.

But what happens when you shoot it on the green?

    For example

    Shot 1 - Driver:

Autoshot detected - Ball lands on fairway - 220 yards (so shot 1 was 220 yards)

    Shot 2 - 7 iron:

Ball lands on the back of the green. Front green is 120 yards, middle green is 140 yards back green is 160 yards.

How will the watch know where i will putt it from? It doesn't register my putts nor can i pinpoint from where i putt. So in my app it will say

Shot 2 - 7 iron - 140 yards (Middle green). But i reality i shot it on the back of the green 160 yards.

    Or am i missing something?

  • Even though it may not be keeping details stats about your putts, I've found it pretty good at detecting the first one and getting the last fairway club pretty accurate.  The CT10 definitely improves the putt detection though.

Does it not seem to be working like this for you?  I now have a CT10 on my putter so can't say as of the last few weeks how it's doing.

  • 100% agree with you, even when you’re not on the green, I can be at the back and it’s registered me on the green and now it hasn’t tracked my shot distance even though I’m 5 yards at the back of the green. I had 2 rounds with it so far and not overly impressed considering the cost, also my 2nd round didn’t even sync with the app even though i completed it on the watch.

  • One of the other responses does mention that the watch seems to do a good job at detecting your first putt, and looking at my past rounds in course view some of my initial putts seem to be in the correct position from where my approach shot ended up.

However, if this doesn’t happen every time, shot tracking is not very useful with the exception of tee shots, par 5’s, and missed approach shots that are far enough off the green to not knock you into the score entry screen.

This would ALL be solved if there was a screen that came up when you get within a certain short distance to the screen asking you if you are about to chip or putt from that location - it would then register your last shot’s distance. After that, it doesn’t matter where your ball ends up after your chip or first putt bc distance doesn’t matter since it doesn’t have anything to do with “club performance.”

    GARMIN PLEASE FIX THIS!

  • Agree, this would be a great solution to a big problem.  I’ve stopped using my S62 because of this and the inability to adjust the sensitivity of the screen.  If you can’t get a reliable distance for your approach shots the watch is kind of a waste.
