Music Control widget during a run activity

How to i activate the music control widget while i’m in the middle of a run activity? There doesn’t seem to be anyway in run settings to add it onto one of the 3 selectable screens. The only way i can seem to get it to currently work is to stop my activity and then go to the music control widget, the same applies for looking at smart notifications.

is there any way to access the music control/notifications while the run activity in running?

Not straightforward but hit the bottom right button to take you to the watch face then scroll to the music widget. Touching the music widget then gives you the option of pause, previous track or next track. The watch will revert to the run activity after a few seconds. Much easier to say "hey siri next track" when using Apple Air Pods!

Yet another function that should be there and is easy to fix but most likely won't be fixed since that seems to be the way of Garmin. Selling premium watches with subpar functions but if they wanted they could make some of the best golf watches on the market by just adding some functions to the watch that is in far cheaper watches.

I wouldn't say it should be "fixed" as I'm sure it was a design decision how it currently works. Clearly this device isn't aimed at music, which is unfortunate for some. It never it hurts, though, to make a suggestion to Garmin to add functionality.

One thing I'd like to add to Dave's comment is that if you have manual laps enabled, you need to press and hold the back button to get to the watch face. Just pressing it quickly will cause a lap.
