1. do I Start the round just on the watch, or also on the app? Are they synched to each other when both are active? Are there advantages using the app as well?

2. I am confused by the scoring settings. What do I have to enter where when I want stableford calculation? What is meant by local handicap and index/slope. They override each other somehow. My HC is 21.4 (beginner since last year), this I can only enter by index/slope, I have like +23 strokes with this on my home course. Can someone explain what to enter where?

  • Just start the round on the watch, sync the watch with the app after the round and it will upload the details and stats etc.

To do stableford calculation go settings-golf settings-scoring method. Just use local handicap and enter 21 (21.4 rounded to playing handicap) and it should work fine.

  • @PeterSchuldt: what is your home country, or where do you play? Germany?

    (2) in Germany you have to use "local handicap" and enter 23.

Thx, Horst. Yes, German here and I figured this already out by myself.

Nevertheless, my home course data doesn’t seem to be correct. The overall extra strokes are correct, but one is on the wrong hole. But I can live with this ;)

BTW, how good are the CT10 sensors? Any insights?

    Schönes Spiel!

  • If you want to do club tracking, the CT10's are awesome.  You want one at least on your putter so putts are tracked, but ideally you have one on all clubs.  I only have 3 (I'm too cheap) that I have on my Driver, SandWedge, and Putter.  When you have them on all clubs, you don't have to think much about it.  Otherwise you still need to enter the club for those that you don't have CT10's.  If you forget, and do it after the next hit, it can get a bit confused.

Given that Virtual Caddie is a pretty big feature of the S62, club tracking is pretty important.  So for that, the CT10's are really helpful.

Note you can sometimes get false positives when the clubs bump the ground or other objects (like carrying multiple CT10 clubs in your hand).  But those don't seem to impact your stats since they often don't make sense in terms of hits and VC seems to ignore them for club suggestions.
