My S60 wont update in Garmin Express. Red error message comes up

Red error say 'Error installing the update', then changes quickly to 'error synching with Garmin Connect'.

Have reset watch, have unpaired and repaired device, no joy.

  • Try the following steps:

    1. In the Garmin Express program window, select the gear icon next to the question mark in the upper right section of the screen > Select the About option listed on the left side of the window that appears > Select the Check for Updates option and install any updates to Express if showing available.
    2. At this time (as of March 2024) version 7.20.3.0 is the most current version of Garmin Express for Windows. If you select the "Check for Updates" option in Express, none are available, and the version is showing earlier than 7.20.3.0...uninstall the Express program completely from the computer and reinstall Garmin Express from the official Garmin site to get the most current version.
    3. Use a home computer to install Garmin Express. Do not use a work computer, as the firewall and security software will prevent Garmin Express from working properly.
    4. Run Garmin Express as administrator.
    5. Change your default web browser to Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
    6. Clear the cache for your default web browser.
    7. Follow the steps outlined on the Garmin Support page linked here: Removing Files that Fail to Sync in Garmin Express from the Computer

If you continue having concerns the error in Express after following the steps outlined above, please contact Garmin Support to discuss further solutions for the concern.
