Garmin S60 & CT 10 Sensors not tracking on the App

I played my second round today with the S60 paired with the CT10 sensors. The auto club detection and GPS coordination of the shots on the first round work flawless. However on the second round when I went to check the Garmin Golf app I noticed it accurately tracked the number of shots on each hole as well as whether it hit fairway and number of putts but it did not have a GPS location of where the actual shot occurred.

Any idea on what would cause this?

I did notice that on the way to the third hole I had to do a hard reset because it froze completely but when restarted it did ask me if I wanted to resume round for which I selected yes and it did reflect me being on the correct hole at the time. But neither before it froze or after the rest no actual GPS location of shots was recorded on the app.

  • If the watch froze during the round resulting in the watch needing to be powered off, and rebooted...upon resuming the round, it may not have saved the shot data that was recorded up to the moment the watch froze.

This is not something that should frequently happen, but in this circumstance the watch had retained the stat tracking information...which is not derived from the club sensors, that info is derived from input at the end of each hole through the prompts that appear after the score is entered.

To help prevent concerns with the Approach S60 freezing up during the round, make sure to sync and check for updates to the watch regularly. Also check and make sure the hardware storage is not almost full, especially if multiple processes are running at once on the watch...like GPS, shot detection, sensor pairing, and Bluetooth connection to the smartphone.

  • From what I understand the Garmin sensor for putt does not record the location of the putts.
