S60 heats up while charging

I had the same thing last night. Plugged my watch in and it stopped charging at 42% stays warrm. I also had the issue where on Saturday morning it didn't want to switch on. Had to plug it in to a power source a few times and try to get a sequence right and then eventually it switched on. I have only had this watch for about 6 weeks. 

I have the same issue with my S60 despite after changing or replacing its lithium battery. It just charge up the new battery from 48% to 53%, and the S60 watch heats up after being plugged in to either the charging socket or computer for a very long time (hours to be exact). But charge still remains at 53%.

I ran out of ideas why it remains like that despite having a new lithium battery installed.

Hope that Garmin technical staff can chime in to this, as it seemed to be a common issue amongst S60 users from my experience as well as the 2 other users above over 1 year or so. 

If I had this with my S60, I did a restart and this helped ...
