Whatchfaces disappear while golf app running

I have recently got a new S60, exploring its features trying to set it up for the most comfortable use in the course.

The issue I have is the folllofing. During the golf app running : if I want to consult the main watc (pressing the Back button), I come to a default watchface intsead of my preferred watchface. If then I want to choose that custom watchface, it is not possible. I thus lose the opportunity to consult the data from my favorite customized watchface.
After exiting the golf app, this watchface is :
- a default watchface, if I tried to consult the watchface during golf app running

- my favorite watchface, if I did not try to consult the watchface during golf app running
Is this all a bug ?

By the way, the custom watchfaces are almost all the time shown during the choosing procedure as a icon IQ with a question mark. But very rarely I may see the previews... Can not understand  what does it depend on.

Thank you in advance answering me

  • Hello, that is odd. I would suggest updating the software on the watch. If you choose a downloaded watch face and the watch face displays an icon for Connect IQ, that typically indicates a purchase of that watch face is required. This will depend on the creator/developer of the watch face.

  • Thank you Rob for your answer.

I have the latest software installed.
    I downlaoded only free watchfaces.

When the problem occurs, the dowloaded watchfaces are all displayed in this same manner (IQ1). And the external map application is neither working at such a moment, also displayed as IQ1. After the watch is switch off and then on, the problem disappears. So it is not related to the golf app, something else initiates it.

It seems that I found what was the reason, how to solve the problem, and I want to share it with you.
I noticed that this problems occurs after receiving to the watch of a copy of a message from the phone. In the same time a notification appears at the phone "Garmin app requires for permission to access to calendar" (Or Contacts - can not remember, it disappears too fast). First, I did not took this not notifications seriously, and I did not even understand which app sends it. But afterwards, I found a way to give all the permissions to all three Garmin applications on the phone, and the problem seems to disappear

I am wondering why the permissions were not set up correctly: at the start up installation, I followed all that what I was asked to do. Maybe this lack in permissions was due to the fact that I used the Garmin App before ?  I did, because my previous watch was S10 which is much more basic device and probably it did not require all that S62 needs as permissions, and after switching to S60, those permissions where not updated / asked to be updated ? I let you check this, hope this helps you in you work.

The only thing that still bothers me are the sudden crushes. It is really ennoying, since after such a crush all the installed apps, widgets disappear, and it take a lot time to re-install and re-configure. I hope this will not occur during a golf course!
It seems to me that is happens after receiving whatsapp messages but I am not sure. And I receive dozens of whatsapp message, and can not understand why some messages may cause a watch crush...

    Best regards,
