My Garmin S2 battery dies before the end of the round

My Garmin golf watch battery only lasts about 14 holes and then it dies I just updated it but still won't last a full round

My Garmin S2 watch always seems to lose connection after about 9 holes, battery still seems good as it continues to try to connect looking for location. Is this a battery issue or something else?
